Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Will Stay Plugged IN be teaching the student's curriculum?

A. No. Stay Plugged IN will NOT be teaching the student's curriculum. Each student will follow their respective curriculum from their school and teacher(s). The VLSC will have on staff teachers to aid in any way possible when students run across difficulties.

Q. Is the daily schedule stringent?

A. No. The daily schedule for each student will differ depending on their school's schedule. For example, if a school's curriculum is taught from 9 am - 1 pm, then the student will use that time to work on their curriculum.

Q. If I know other students that are friends with my child, can they apply as well?

A. Yes. We are currently accepting applications from anyone in grades 4 through 9 and for those who have friends or classmates, we will try to prioritize in putting them next to each other in the VLSC.

Q. Does my child have to participate in the afterschool SPINClass?

A. No. SPINClass is a free add-on where we provide student activity and engagement. Losing out on clubs, sports, band, etc. is difficult, therefore we want to provide an experience that the students will genuinely enjoy and learn from alongside their peers.

Q. What happens if a student comes down with COVID-19?

A. If any one of the 30 students is known to contract COVID-19, then for the safety of all, we would shut down for a week to ensure no more spread within the facility and among students and staff. This is one reason for the weekly payment plan.

Q. I want to know more about what is entailed in the afterschool esports program (SPINClass). Where can I find more information?

A. Watch this video below!
