FLY POINT PARTNERS ANNOUNCES ADVANCED DRONE TECHNOLOGY AND WORKFORCE PROGRAMMING FOR TECH IN ACTION 2027

In collaboration with Stay Plugged In and Clayton Valley Charter High School, the initiative equips East Bay students with hands-on skills in professional drone software, 3D animation, visual observation, and emerging aviation career pathways.

CONCORD, Calif. — October 12, 2026 — Fly Point Partners, a provider of custom drone light shows, aviation education, and workforce development programs, today announced a new educational workforce initiative in partnership with Stay Plugged In (SPIN) and Clayton Valley Charter High School's (CVCHS) Game Programming Academy. The program integrates cutting-edge swarm drone technology, animation design, and flight safety curriculum into the upcoming Tech in Action 2027 showcase.

Through this initiative, participating students receive hands-on instruction using professional-grade pilot command software, 3D design tools, and flight safety protocols. The curriculum prepares high school youth for career pathways across commercial drone shows, precision agriculture, autonomous transportation delivery, land surveying, and public sector flight operations.

As part of the regional Tech in Action 2027 platform—taking place Saturday, March 27, 2027, at the Hilton Concord—students will demonstrate their 3D drone design work, command software knowledge, and applied knowledge of flight operations and safety directly to hundreds of attending peers, educators, and industry leaders.

“Tech in Action is built around a simple idea: students should not just learn about emerging technology—they should use it, explain it, and defend what they know in front of professionals,” said Anthony Anderson, Founder and Event Lead, Tech in Action; Game Programming Academy, Clayton Valley Charter High School. “This partnership turns a drone light show from something students watch into an authentic learning and workforce experience. Students will work with professional flight software, 3D animation, and aviation safety practices, then demonstrate those skills publicly at Tech in Action. That is the bridge we are trying to build across the East Bay—from classroom learning to visible, applied skill and real career pathways.”

“Drone light show swarm technology represents a unique opportunity to teach students digital art, aviation, project management, and design all at once," said Tim Cavanagh, Drone Specialist at Fly Point Partners. "By training students as visual observers, they receive first-hand safety and coordination experience usable immediately in the drone show industry. They also learn how our pilots plan Part 107 flights. On the 3D animation side, students use the same design software used by the drone industry, the visual FX industry serving film and television, and more. The visual design skills they learn can even be used in their own entrepreneurship if they choose to start a business. We are giving them a distinct competitive advantage in multiple rapidly growing sectors!”

The curriculum focuses on three core competency areas:

  • Flight Operations & Software Command: Students learn to use professional pilot command software to analyze drone health, resolve pre-flight system diagnostics, and upload complex flight paths.

  • 3D Animation & Design: Participants utilize industry-standard 3D animation tools to design dynamic aerial light configurations, building transferable skills applicable across robotics, design, and digital media.

  • Safety & Visual Observation: Ground safety modules training students in visual-observer responsibilities and aviation safety practices, identifying system desynchronizations and enforcing airspace safety protocols.

The educational program serves as the foundation for broader regional STEM initiatives and upcoming live aviation experiences across the East Bay community.
