Esports Recruiting Events in 2024: Carry 2 College, SPIN Showcases, In-person LAN Events, and more

It’s a new year and esports recruiting events in 2024 are in full swing.

Esports recruiting events are a great opportunity for you to meet college coaches and learn about a variety of esports programs.

Additionally, an esports recruiting event is a 2-way street. College esports recruiters are there to learn about you and you are there to learn about them.

Stay Plugged In offers a variety of opportunities for you to show off your skills in front of college coaches. Namely, we host regular online showcases across different titles and we host Campus Series LAN events, or in-person recruiting events across the country.

Recruiting Event / LAN Season

Throughout Spring 2024, Stay Plugged In is hosting a couple of in-person Campus Series LAN events for you to meet face-to-face with college recruiters.

Unlike traditional LAN events, you don’t even need to bring your own computer. Stay Plugged In has you covered – just grab your friends/teammates or register as a Free Agent today.

Competing in Stay Plugged In Campus Series esports recruiting events can help you put your best foot forward in your esports recruiting journey.

Additionally, it provides you with an opportunity to connect with other students and college recruiters face-to-face.

Upcoming Campus Series Esports Recruiting Events

In April, Stay Plugged In is teaming up with Roosevelt University to host an in-person esports recruiting event at their campus in scenic Chicago. Students will compete in Rocket League, VALORANT, or Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and show off their skills in front of college esports recruiters.

Additionally, Stay Plugged In is bringing esports recruiting to the Nutmeg State Games in New Britain, Connecticut – featuring Rocket League, VALORANT, or Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

If you’re local or semi-local to the Virginia area, we’re also coming back to Catawba Valley Community College for our 3rd Campus Series LAN with CVCC. Students will compete in Rocket League, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and VALORANT on April 13 and 14.

Why should you attend Esports Recruiting Events?

By attending or participating in Esports Recruiting Events, you can have a direct line of communication with college coaches who are recruiting for their program.

Each of our recruiting events features a College Fair, where you can learn more about different college esports programs, ask questions, and make connections.

Additionally, by competing in esports recruiting events, you build experience competing in an online or LAN format with teammates – experience that you do not get through solo queue.

Set yourself up for success at Esports Recruiting Events

While you should absolutely practice your gameplay skills ahead of esports recruiting events in 2024, you should also prepare for the recruitment and conversational side of these events.

For example:

  • Prepare to talk about yourself

  • Come prepared with questions for college recruiters

  • Keep an open mind

  • Know what you are looking for in a college program

Come with Questions

An esports recruiting LAN is a 2-way street. College recruiters are there to learn about you and you are there to learn about them.

Ask them questions about:

  • Tuition

  • Other academic scholarships and grants they can offer you

  • Program goals

  • What you can expect as a student in the program

  • Program / school culture
