Lawrence Tech Esports

Biography

Lawrence Technological University is a private STEM based university located in Southfield, MI. Lawrence Tech offers both varsity and JV athletic scholarships for players that would like to play competitively at the collegiate level. LTU has a dedicated director of esports, a paid coach for every title they offer, and facilities for its growing program. We have three student worker positions that are available to esports players only. They work on socials, content creation and community event planning all while getting paid up to 20 hours a week. Those positions are applied for every year internally within the team. This is full varsity athletics so you get priority registration for your classes and your swag, travel and equipment needs are covered. We compete in the NAIA conference known as WHAC which is a RIOT partnered conference with direct lines to CLoL and CVAL tournaments. Beyond WHAC we compete in NACE varsity/premier, ECAC, and NECC depending on the game and needs of the program. We support our players academically and athletically with multiple resources to help them succeed during their college journey. We fundraise money to support all these efforts by working concessions at Detroit Lions football games and concerts at Ford Field in Detroit. In 2024-2025 we are working Billy Joel, ACDC, Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, and The Weeknd concerts. Finally, we plan and pay for community events to gather players from all 7 of our titles together. These invents include paintball, bowling, movies, topgolf, zoo visits, evenings at a local arcade, trivia nights at a local restaurant etc. If you are interested in becoming a Blue Devil and helping the team grow, contact our coach Benjamin Sobczyk!
