Biography

Lackawanna College Esports competes in various prestigious leagues and competitions, including NECC and NJCAAE, providing its players with valuable opportunities to showcase their skills and talents. To support its esports teams, Lackawanna College has built a state-of-the-art esports arena located on the Scranton campus. This arena is equipped with top-notch gaming infrastructure, featuring 30 Lenovo Legion PCs and Blacklyte gaming chairs at each setup. Our Esports arena also includes a livestreaming room, providing an immersive and professional esports production development experience for the players. Additionally, the Scranton campus boast a 1000+ seat historic theater recently renovated for in person esports events such as our annual Battle for PA LAN competition. We field teams based on the students' interest which currently includes Rocket League, Rainbow Six Siege, Madden 26, and Super Smash Bros Ultimate. We also offer casual gaming opportunities with sports games, single player titles, and even tables games. Our esports program has earned three national championships in NJCAAE Rocket League and is consistently in the playoff mix in our other primary titles. Our ability to compete and succeed at the highest level against major universities and other two-year schools stems from the incredible support of our coaching staff and athletics department. Our students are truly treated as student athletes, and are eligible for scholarships.
